Learn to swim

To enroll in lessons, please call our Swim School, visit us in person, or complete the enquiry form on this website. If your child has previous swimming experience, they will be booked in for a free assessment to ensure that they are placed in the correct level. Enrolments can be made at any time during the year.

 

Our programs operate all year round, including during school holidays. We believe that ongoing lessons maximise progress. Please note that the Swim School is closed on public holidays and for a two-week period over Christmas and New Year. Your fees will be adjusted accordingly.

You are entitled to a maximum of two (2) make-up lesson per calendar month. Make-up lessons do not accrue and are not interchangeable for refunds. A minimum of 30 minutes notice is required to notify an absence from your lesson(s) to receive a make-up for the absence. Extra make-ups are not provided for missed make-up lessons. In extenuating circumstances, such as ongoing illness or long-term holidays, please contact our manager.

As your child grows, their swimming skills will continue to develop and extend. Each child is unique and will master skills and progress at their own pace. The amount of time spent practising skills can affect how long it takes for your child to progress through the levels. Regular attendance throughout the year will aid in your child’s ability to remain water-safe, retain skills and progress. At Cronulla Beach Swim School, we offer heated 25m indoor pool maintained at a comfortable 29 degrees and a smaller training pool heated to 32 degrees, ideal for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Swimming lessons provide a unique combination of social and physical interaction with the teacher and classmates. Learning to swim is a lifelong investment, and continuing swimming during the winter months will build upon the skills learnt for the following summer. Children require constant practice to acquire new skills and reinforce existing ones. Aquatic education is an ongoing process of long-term skill development and committing skills into muscle memory. Stopping over winter may cause your child’s confidence and swimming ability to regress. Our pools are maintained at a comfortable temperature all year round to ensure optimal conditions for swimming.

All enrolments are perpetual (ongoing) and the direct debit payments will continue until a cancellation form is submitted by the responsible person. Two (2) weeks notice is required to cease enrolment and the direct debit agreement. Credit or refunds will not be granted for missed lessons prior to written notification. Cancellations will not be processed until any outstanding amounts owing are paid in full. Any unattended lessons are required to be paid.

Any remaining make-up lessons must be used before the last date of your enrolment or they will be forfeited. Make-up lessons cannot be booked if you do not have a current enrolment for that student. Make-up lessons will not be reinstated if you rejoin at a later date.
